MAY FRIENDSHIP DAY Friday, May 1st Theme: “A Place Called Home”
Isaiah 32:18: “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.”
CWU 2024-2028 Priority #4 - Fair & Accessible Housing
9:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church
1100 Indian School Rd. NE (just west of University Blvd NE)
The May Friendship Day theme “A Place Called Home”, centers on fair and accessible housing. We will be exploring Albuquerque’s housing problems for families by a panel consis[ng of organizations that help people out. Panel members will be Amy Kindrick of Safe House (a shelter for women subjected to domesic violence), Michal Trimm, Director of Family Promise, and possibly others. It promises to be a very educational, down-to-the earth program.
In addition, we will take up CWU’s Least Coin Offering after the coffee fellowship, as we pray for justice, peace, and reconciliation for women and girls around the world. We are asked to give a token—a least coin in our currency that is set aside all year long each time we pray, either individually or as a group.
