World Community Day
World Community Day Celebration
Friday, November 4, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
St. Luke Lutheran Church
9100 Menaul NE - between Wyoming & Eubank
Theme: “A Call to Pray”
Ezra 10:4 (NIV)
“Rise up; this matter is in your hands.
We will support you, so take courage and do it.”
An individual clarion call to action is being heralded for us to rise up, courageously come forth and bombard the heavens with a variety of intentional prayers to God seeking His divine guidance of our efforts to intercede on behalf of all who are unjustly persecuted, voiceless and restricted in their abilities to experience a multiplicity of human rights, along with genuine, sustained peace in their lives. World Community Day is one of the ways in which we, as members of Church Women United, express our concerns about the changing landscape as it relates to peace in the global community.
Prayer that leads to action on behalf of others in need in the global community will be the emphasis of our World Community Day celebration. There have been difficulties in arranging for a speaker so we are unable to announce who that will be at this time, but watch for it in the CWU announcement in your church bulletins or in updated emails. Otherwise, “Just come and see!” Bring your nickels for the Nickels for National collection, as well as the regular offering to support the National Unit.
A short business meeting will follow the program.
