CHURCH WOMEN UNITED

MAY 7, 2021, at 9:30 a.m.

May Friendship Day “Making Room at the Table”

May Friendship Day celebrates the inter-generational bonds among women. This service seeks to discern true signs of growth that comes from deeper connections and relations between generations. It is also an opportunity to worship together as well as to highlight the contributions and gifts of outstanding Christian women in the community. These strengthening bonds nourish and nurture the ability and courage to meet the personal difficulties as well as the larger social injustices that plague women and their families locally and nationally by “making room at the table” for them and for others who are not like us, those who are not our neighbors or friends and who can never repay us. If a significant difference is to be made in 2021 in the lives of women and children, then we as Christian women, just find ways to become ONE by “making room at the table” for everyone.

In addition to our regular CWU offering, we will also celebrate the gathering of the Fellowship of the Least Coin—an ecumenical movement of prayer for peace, justice and reconciliation. The combined funds are shared as grants to women worldwide who want to improve their lives and the the lives of those in their communities.
